Your moments, kept private.
Effective October 1, 2026 · ShortMe
This policy describes how ShortMe processes your information when you use our website and mobile applications. Your uploaded footage and generated shorts are private by default.
What we collect
We receive your account identifier, email address, sign-in provider information, uploaded videos, generation settings, processing results, subscription status, and usage records. When you contact support, we receive your message and account email. Technical records may include request identifiers, error codes, timestamps, and device or browser information needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use your video
We check the video, extract audio and selected frames, identify interesting segments, and render the shorts you request. The audio is sent to OpenAI’s Whisper service for transcription. Selected frames, transcript text, and editing instructions are sent to Google’s Gemini service for analysis. We request your consent before the first AI processing task. If you do not consent, you may still access your account, but cannot generate shorts.
We use the paid Gemini API for processing. We do not use your footage to train our own AI models, sell it, or publish it in a gallery. Your inputs are subject to the processing and retention practices of the AI providers. Review OpenAI’s privacy policy and Google Gemini API terms.
Service providers and international processing
Supabase provides authentication and database services. Cloudflare provides hosting, private file storage, and processing infrastructure. Email delivery may be provided by Resend. Stripe processes web payments, Apple and Google process mobile purchases, and RevenueCat helps verify access across platforms. These providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States.
We receive payment status and product identifiers, not your full payment card details. We use this information to activate access, enforce processing quotas, restore purchases, and address billing problems.
How long we keep information
Source videos and analysis are scheduled for deletion 7 days after upload. Generated shorts are scheduled for deletion 30 days after creation. Expiry dates appear in your studio. You can request earlier deletion. When a project or account is deleted, access is removed immediately and physical cleanup is processed in the background. Limited financial, fraud prevention, or legally required records may be retained for the necessary period.
Account security and your choices
Files are private and use temporary access links. Keep those links private: anyone with a valid link may be able to access its file until it expires. Account access uses your selected sign-in method. No system is completely secure, but we limit access and keep secrets out of client applications.
You can download your results, delete a project, or delete your account. Contact support for questions, requests to access or correct your information, or to exercise rights available in your location. Withdrawing consent stops future AI processing; it does not undo processing already completed.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential browser storage to keep you signed in, remember a resumable upload, and restore your chosen settings. We do not use advertising cookies in the initial service.
Children and uploaded people
The service is intended for adults. Do not use it if you are under 18. You are responsible for having permission to upload footage and personal information about other people, including children.
